Student Health Center Changes-Fall 2020

We are excited to welcome you back when we open first week of Fall 2020!  As you know, COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is still a concern in our community.  We have been working hard this summer to create plans to protect you and our campus community.

-The SHC will provide services for all enrolled students by video visit, telephone visit, or in the clinic.  We are unable to offer walk in appointments at this time.  To schedule a visit, please call 269-337-7200 for screening.  You will need to have an active MyChart account.

-All appointments will be screened by phone to allow for physical distancing.  Only visits that require services that are unable to be done via phone or video will be offered in clinic visits.

-Only scheduled appointments will be allowed in the office.  Please do not bring any additional people with you.

-Fewer options for appointments and longer appointment times may be necessary for disinfecting spaces.  Please be on time for your scheduled appointment.

-Anyone entering the office must be wearing a face covering.  You must continue to wear it in the exam room and in all clinic locations.

-At your clinic visit you will notice barriers installed at check in/out and staff will be wearing additional PPE.

-We will ask you to use hand sanitizer once you enter the office.  You will also be given a disinfecting wipe to clean any touched surfaces upon leaving.

-We will no longer offer magazines, self-care selections, or any other item in the waiting room that is difficult to clean.

-There will be limited self-care supplies in the residence halls and SHC.  If you need self-care supplies, please contact us (, phone 269-337-7200, or MyChart message) and we will deliver to your campus mail box.

-We will be providing COVID testing and daily symptom monitoring for students.

The health of students and the campus has always been our top priority.  We are working closely with our local health department, taking guidance from the American College Health Association, and the CDC in order to keep up to date with current policy recommendations.  Please understand that this is a fluid situation and we will adjust our policies and procedures as needed to mitigate risk of infection for all. Our community has been through a lot together and we appreciate your cooperation with these changes.  We look forward to providing you with exceptional healthcare this fall!
